Do you need a VAT relief form for cleaning?
Not with us. FatiGlanz Gebäudereinigung is registered as a small business under § 19 of the German VAT Act, which means no German value-added tax is charged and none appears on your invoice. There is no 19 percent to take off, so there is nothing for a relief form to do.
That is worth knowing when you compare quotes. With a company that does charge VAT, a relief form is the only way to avoid paying it, and the sequence matters: the form has to exist before the invoice is issued, because tax already billed and paid cannot be recovered afterwards. That means a trip to your VAT office during out-processing, value limits and validity rules to watch.

What exactly does the pass guarantee cover?
If your housing inspection fails on a cleaning item that was in your written scope, we come back and re-clean it free, with priority over new bookings. The guarantee is in your quote in writing.
It does not cover damage or repairs, because those are not cleaning problems: a cracked tile, a burn mark, a hole from a wall anchor, or a broken blind remain damage, no matter how well we clean. It also does not cover items you removed from the scope to save money. If we think a removal is risky, we tell you before you book.
How far ahead should I book?
During PCS season, roughly May through August, book two to three weeks ahead. Everybody in the KMC is moving in the same window and good slots go first. Outside of season, a few days is usually enough, and same-week emergency slots exist with a surcharge.
If your dates are not firm yet, book anyway with your best estimate. Rescheduling is free with 48 hours' notice, and holding a slot costs you nothing. Waiting until your dates are certain is how families end up cleaning their own oven at midnight.

Are you an American or a German company?
German, and that is deliberate. FatiGlanz Gebäudereinigung is a registered cleaning company based in Landstuhl, and K-Town Cleaning is our English-speaking service brand for the KMC. You get German trade standards, insurance and invoicing, with coordination and paperwork in English.
Do you work on base?
We clean on-base housing where access can be arranged through you, your sponsor or the housing office. Base access rules are set by the installation, not by us, so tell us your housing type when booking and we will sort out the access requirements together.
Can I get an itemized invoice for my housing office or landlord?
Yes, and we provide it as standard rather than on request. The invoice lists the services performed line by line, in English, which is what housing offices and German landlords accept as proof that professional cleaning was carried out.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Reschedule free of charge with at least 48 hours' notice. PCS dates move constantly and we plan for it. For cancellations within 24 hours during peak season we may charge a partial fee, because that slot could have gone to another family, and we tell you that upfront.
Do you clean apartments in older German buildings?
Yes, and they need different handling than base housing: older tile and grout, wooden windows, Rolladen boxes that have not been opened in years, and cellars with high humidity. Our German operation cleans these buildings every week, so this is routine rather than a special case.
